Adventure Therapy for Dogs and With Dogs

Dogs

Adventure hikes for dogs provide much-needed physical and mental stimulation to reduce destructive behaviors, calm anxious dogs, and improve social interactions. We will take your fur companion on an adventure if you're busy during the week to ensure that they are getting the care that they need.

Humans

For humans who have mental and physical health conditions and need a motivator to get outside in nature and get physical exercise, engaging in adventure therapy with dogs can also provide the therapeutic benefit for stress reduction, improved motor skills and overall better mental well-being, with the addition of adventure as a catalyst in the therapy process. This could look like going on a group hike with dogs, paddle boarding with dogs, or intentional meditation outdoors with dogs.

Photography is a powerful tool that allows us to see ourselves and our surroundings from a fresh perspective. During our guided hikes, we utilize photography to document our observations, serving as a form of meditation that keeps us grounded in the moment. A photoshoot in nature can foster new cognitive processing as you navigate a new path in your journey.

Benefits

  • Mindfulness in nature, enhancing regulation and cognitive processing

  • Capturing images of plants, gaining knowledge about nature and plant identification, and drawing connections to life

  • Hiking to a spring and waterfall promotes physical activity.
